1988年12月，上海新锦江大酒店在百年历史的锦江饭店旁拔地而起,以153.6米的高度成为上海市第一高楼。简洁的八角棱柱造型，整体的玻璃幕墙外观,银灰与银白交织,在阳光下如钻石般熠熠生辉。41层的蓝天旋转餐厅更是万众瞩目的焦点。
1990年10月8日，新锦江大酒店正式开业。作为上海首家中国人自己管理的五星级酒店，承载了许多的耀目荣光：五星钻石奖上海十大金奖经典建筑……光环后面，是一代人挥洒的心血与汗水。站在蓝天旋转餐厅，360度的视野，将上海滩的百年风貌与鳞次栉比的摩天大厦尽收眼底，见证着这座城市辉煌的变迁,也向世人展示着中国奔腾的激情与梦想。30多年过去,新锦江依然镌刻在这座城的记忆里。
从开业至今，近400位名人政要在此下榻，它被誉为“新国宾馆”。大堂墙上的“名人墙”还留存着他们的亲笔签名，成为酒店的最宝贵的记忆。改革开放总设计师曾两次登上41层的蓝天餐厅，放眼眺望建设中的上海，赞叹“上海大变样了”。新锦江大酒店，映照着这座城市辉煌的过去灿烂的今天，以及无限美好的未来。
In December 1988, the Jin Jiang Tower Hotel in Shanghai rose up next to the century Jin Jiang Hotel, becoming the tallest building in Shanghai with a height of 153.6 metres. The simple octagonal prismatic shape, the overall appearance of the glass curtain wall, silver grey and silver white intertwined in the sunlight like diamonds glitter, the 41st floor of the blue sky revolving restaurant is the focus of the attention of all the people.
On 8 October 1990, the Jin Jiang Tower Hotel opened its doors. As the first Chinesemanaged fivestar hotel in Shanghai, it has carried a lot of dazzling glory: Five Star Diamond Award, Shanghai Top Ten Gold Award for Classic Architecture……Behind the halo, there is a generation of people‘s hard work and sweat. Standing in the blue sky revolving restaurant, the 360degree view of the Shanghai Bund‘s centuriesold style and the skyscrapers lined up in full view, witnessing the city‘s glorious changes, but also to the world to show China‘s passion and dream of galloping. 30 years later, the new Jin Jiang is still engraved in the memory of the city.
Since its opening, nearly 400 national leaders have stayed here, and it is known as the ”New State Guesthouse”. The ”Wall of Fame” on the wall of the lobby, which still bears their autographs, has become the hotel‘s most precious memory. The Chief Architect of China‘s Reform and OpeningUp once climbed up to the 41st floor of the Blue Sky Restaurant twice to look out over the thriving Shanghai and exclaimed, ”Shanghai has changed a lot”.
